My interests as a photographer lie in compositions comprised of derelict places and structures. I am also interested in the placement of the vestiges of human activity within the natural and urban environments, finding beauty in the juxtaposition of abandonment and life.
These themes and the constant search for harmony of elements was shaped, over years of formal education and practice, by skilled photographers and wonderful mentors at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Ithaca College, and Rhode Island School of Design. Living in Mexico and The UK and traveling through South America as well as Europe also influenced the way I view landscapes, particularly those in urban areas.
I work exclusively with medium and large format negative and reversal film.
